ABOUT ME
I am an art painter, computer graphics, art designer, engineering design and technology designer, and starving artist.
Luis Eduardo, a multifaceted artist and aspiring engineer, was born in the quaint town of San Luis de la Paz, Guanajuato, Mexico. His formative years were rooted in a traditional Catholic society, nurtured by the structured private schooling environment. This backdrop of contentment and carefree childhood laid the foundation for a remarkably social individual, particularly during his teenage years when he moved to Guanajuato City at the age of fourteen. Living in student housing, surrounded predominantly by older friends, Eduardo's early interactions added a unique maturity to his youthful exuberance.
It was in the vibrant city of Seattle, Washington, in 1990, that Eduardo's artistic aspirations began to crystallize. Although he had always been fascinated by art, often sketching cars, soccer games, and sports actions as a child, the absence of art schools in his hometown meant that his passion lay dormant. This changed dramatically when he met an artist while in Seattle. The following year, Eduardo lived with Guillermo Olguin, who invited him to use his paints and brushes, thus lighting the spark that would lead him to formally study art at Seattle Central College.
Despite a lack of familial artistic connections, Eduardo's dedication to his craft was unwavering. Initially drawn to painting, he expanded his repertoire by delving into graphic design. Enrolling in the Graphic Design Academy at Seattle Central College in 2001, financial constraints forced him to pause his academic journey. Undeterred, Eduardo returned to education in 2019, enrolling at a technical college Clover Park College in Tacoma, Lakewood, Washington, where he excelled with a GPA of 3.75 and 4.00 in Graphic Technologies. His pursuit of knowledge continued as he moved back to Seattle in 2021 to study Engineering Design at Renton Technical College, a field he now aims to engage with professionally.
Throughout his life, Eduardo's art has been a harmonious blend of abstract, cubist, and expressionist elements marked by bold colors and a distinct inclination toward women's faces. These subjects reflect his admiration and romantic fascination with women, as well as his keen interest in architecture and interior design. His creative journey is one of exploratory spontaneity; devoid of rigid techniques, each canvas Eduardo approaches is treated like his first, driven by raw emotion rather than learned methods. This unscripted style juxtaposes starkly with his precision-focused work in engineering design, where accuracy is paramount.
Eduardo's artistic oeuvre, though not widely recognized, holds a unique authenticity. He has showcased his vibrant works in intimate settings, including nightclubs like The Vogue, The Contour, and Martini Heaven, as well as the galleries at The Shoe Building in Pioneer Square during the Artwalk. Despite the absence of formal awards or prominent collectors, the positive reception to his use of color and abstract compositions serves as a testament to his talent.
Beyond his canvas, Eduardo is a man of diverse interests. His foray into engineering design has become more than just an academic pursuit; it is a vital part of his dream to find a stable job that can support his artistic endeavors. Additionally, his interests extend to mixing music, creating computer graphics, and capturing moments at music venues through photography and videography.
Eduardo's work, deeply personal and imbued with a sense of vibrant individuality, is a reflection of his relentless quest for self-expression and a means to navigate life's complexities. As he continues to evolve both as an artist and an aspiring engineer, his art remains a mirror to his values, illustrating a respect for precision, a love for beauty in forms, and an unwavering commitment to creativity in all its manifestations.
